Get Real Hoodia-For Real Results

The overwhelming popularity of Hoodia Gordonii in the weight loss industry has caused a lot of con artists to spring up. This shouldn’t be a surprise. Anytime a product receives the attention that Hoodia has garnered, the scams are soon to follow. The sad part is the reputation of the real product becomes tarnished, because people who use the knock-offs are not going to see the results. I have used the real Hoodia and I can say that it does work. It has lived up to the billing 100%.

I want to give everyone a few guidelines that can make choosing your Hoodia Gordonii easier. I do not endorse any particular product because there are several manufacturers around the world who are producing the real thing. If you know the right questions to ask you will easily identify the scams. A company named Phytopharm in Britain is the original manufacturer of Hoodia as a commercial weight loss product. They have a contract with South African entities for the rights to the Hoodia Gordonii products. This does not mean that Phytopharm does not sell the pure Hoodia Gordonii powder to other companies, it would only make sense to supply a few others in the industry. So that is your first question. Where does the Hoodia Gordonii originate, virtually all pure Hoodia originates from Phytopharm.

If the Hoodia comes from anywhere except South Africa, it does not work. Well atleast nothing has been found outside South Africa that works. Only the heart of the plant has any value. If the maker has used the whole plant, you are not getting pure product. Manufacturer’s who are reputable also will offer evidence of third party testing.

Your first choice would be to purchase from Phytopharm. They sell Hoodia Gordonii products under several different trade names. You will usually be able to find the manufacturer name Phytopharm somewhere on their many websites. I have not found Phytopharm products locally. Apparently the do the bulk of their business online with various websites. With this knowledge you should be able to find the real Hoodia Gordonii product. Believe me it may take a little effort but, the results will be worth it.

Is Your Hoodia Cut With Caffeine

Have you ever wondered why so much of the Hoodia that is also blended with Green Tea? Although Green Tea is a healthy free radical fighting antioxidant in itself, it is mainly added to Hoodia formulations to help speed weight loss. Usually the individuals marketing these Hoodia and Green Tea Formulas describe the formula as being synergistic. The truth is that Green Tea is added to these supplements for its diuretic effects and so that more money can be charged for less Hoodia if it is “cut” with Green Tea. The caffiene in the Green Tea also causes a generous initial loss of weight due to water shedding from the tissues. This rapid initial weight loss can lead you to believe that you are experiencing “proof that the Hoodia is working.”

However this does not mean that you should avoid hoodia products that have Green Tea in them. Caffeine is added to many products as it facilitates the delivery of many substances to the brain. A good example is Tylenol 3 where caffeine is used to speed the delivery of Tylenol and codeine to the bloodstream to get you out of pain faster. The same can be said of the caffeine that it is used in Hoodia Gordonni and Green Tea weight loss formulas.

The two ingredients you should look for are the green tea with the green tea in a 20:1 ratio to the hoodia. That is what researchers at Phytopharm and other companies have found to be the most effective green tea to hoodia formula for weight loss. Unfortunately green tea is added to weight loss formulas to disguise low quality hoodia or to enable the manufacturer to put less hoodia in the product and lower the overall cost of it. Usually the cheaper the hoodia is, the more it is cut with Green Tea and other ingredients.

Caffeine is not a villain, It is found in more than sixty leaves, seeds and plants including tea leaves, the kola nut, cacao seed and of course the coffee bean. The effects of caffeine on the body include heart and central nervous system stimulation and muscle relaxation. Caffeine also acts as a diuretic (increasing urine production) and increases the secretion of gastric acid in the stomach.

Unfortunately when you go shopping for hoodia, you will notice that it is often combined with other ingredients besides Green Tea or caffeine, even banned herbs such as ephedra (also known as Ma Huang). Absolutely avoid these formulas as you could give yourself cardiac arrest or experience rapid heart beat and keep awake at night.

The fact that buying real hoodia is expensive and you do get what you pay for. It takes six years to grow hoodia from seed to the mature plants and there are very few commercial hoodia farms in the world. This six-year gap between supplier and buyer is what makes pure Hoodia so expensive. The point is that if you are going to spend a lot of money on high quality hoodia then make sure you are getting it in the recommended 20:1 ratio mix with Green Tea or you are wasting your money.
